In The Spotlight...Jenni Slader, EuroDebt Franchisee

A true success story that has emerged from the recent 2010 Debt Management Today Awards is surely that of new EuroDebt franchisee, Jenni Slader.

Jenni joined the franchise network of leading debt solutions provider EuroDebt at the end of May, and as well as seeing a significant rise in business, she now has an award under her belt, or rather on her mantelpiece, too.

Debt Management Today, in association with EuroDebt, recognised that Jenni was making full use of the marketing materials given to her to launch her new debt advisory services, and decided to give her the Most Visible Presence Award 2010.

Jenni utilised her shop front window of her brokerage on Old Kent Road in SE1, London, by blowing up leaflets and posters advertising her debt solutions business and reported immediate results.

“In just under two weeks I had two walk-ins,” she recounts, having accepted her award at the EuroDebt Franchise Conference in Maidenhead, Berkshire. “All I did was put a few posters in the window, but it had a really great effect.”

She continued: “I’ve been in this mortgage shop for five years now and as it’s right in front of a set of traffic lights I get a lot of people phoning from cars and buses, asking for advice. My next plan is to put a ‘Text for Debt Help’ sign in the window, as people might not want to discuss their debt problems in public. If people can send a text and then have it followed up with a phone call it’s much more private and discreet.”

Having made the jump from mortgage broker to debt advisor, Jenni said that she was looking for a new area to move into, as well as a new income stream: “It’s very similar to being a broker: you’re still meeting with clients and gaining a complete picture before you offer them advice, it’s just a different product. I’m really happy working with EuroDebt as well; they offer you so much support and have great vision with what they’re trying to do.”

Graham Dennis, Franchise Director for EuroDebt, said: “Jenni has made an immediate impact as a new EuroDebt franchisee and her pro-active approach to marketing her services on the high street was recognised at our Franchise Conferences in southern and northern events we have just completed. Marketing forms part of our Continuing Professional Development scheme that we promoted at the Conference along with a number of other new initiatives for our national franchise network.”
